FAD Dieting

Nowadays there are all kinds of fad diets and quick exercise routines. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the moment something seems too good to be true it usually is.

The moment someone promises you that you can get washboard abs in only 60 seconds a days, or you can eat however much you want of something and you will lose weight, there is always a catch. Many of these promises hide the fine print very well, you can eat as much of a certain thing as you want BUT you have to cut out something else completely. You can have washboard abs in only 60 seconds a day, as long as you eat almost nothing and following this extra program for the next 6 months. Titles and headings can be very deceiving.

Here comes the good news, following a healthier lifestyle based on good nutrition and an active lifestyle has many benefits, above and beyond looking great. If you commit to a healthier lifestyle for the right reasons, such as a better health status, feeling better, attaining a sense of accomplishment and many other more meaningful effects, the other more superficial benefits will follow in time. Trust in the process and the effects will follow.

Keep in mind that in a year from now, you will be glad that you didn’t give up today. Time will pass anyway; you might as well do something with it. So yes, a fitness lifestyle won’t help you lose weight in a month, or it won’t give you your wash board abs in only 60 seconds a day, but the results won’t fade. Following any crash course training program, fad diet or any other band aid fix will give you quick results, but you will also bounce back to where you were before the band aid fix just as quickly, whereas if you adopt a fitness lifestyle you will have the results for the rest of your life.

So remember it is not going to be easy, but nothing on this earth worth having will be easy. Having it hard and persevering will give you a sense of pride and a sense of accomplishment that no one will ever be able to take away from you. It’s going to take a long time, but remember, time will pass anyway you might as well be doing something with it. Winners do it today, losers do it tomorrow, start your change today! Why wait for tomorrow or next week Monday? What is wrong with starting right now? Trust me, in a year from now you will be glad you started today!
